Supporting Boiler Replacement at Virgin Active Repton Park with Temporary Heating
Here at Newsome, we are pleased to have supported a major boiler replacement project at Virgin Active’s Repton Park facility, delivering a temporary heating solution that ensured continuous hot water supply throughout the works.
The project involved the replacement of the site’s existing boiler plant, which provides heating and domestic hot water across the club. Maintaining uninterrupted service was essential, particularly for showers and washroom facilities used daily by members.
To support the boiler installation programme, we provided a temporary boiler system designed to take full operational load while the existing equipment was removed and new plant installed. By implementing the boiler hire solution ahead of the main works, we ensured that the transition was completed smoothly, with no disruption to the facility.
The temporary boilers were installed externally and connected into the existing system, allowing hot water services to continue as normal. This approach also created valuable space within the plant room, enabling our engineers to carry out the installation works more efficiently and safely.
Throughout the project, the temporary system operated reliably, maintaining consistent temperatures and supporting the day-to-day operation of the club. Careful planning and coordination ensured that all works were completed with minimal impact on members and staff.
Once the new boiler system was installed and commissioned, we carried out a controlled transition from the temporary plant to the permanent boiler installation. The temporary equipment was then safely removed from site, completing the project without interruption to service.
The new system, based on modular condensing boilers, provides improved flexibility, efficiency and control, allowing the site to respond more effectively to varying demand.
